Great success in Japan

We started this year´s competition season in great fashion. In the land of the rising sun we were able to win 2 gold medals and 1 silver on the 5. annual of Sakura Award competition. Gol medal winners are KARPATSKÁ PERLA Pinot Noir 2013 and DÍLEMÚRE Devín 2014. Silver medal winner is JAGNET André 2013.

Sakura Award is the biggest wine competition in Japan which is evalluated solely by women. 4342 wine samples were evaluated this year from 33 countries by 510 wine judges. The evaluation was hold in hotel Westin Tokia between 29. and 31. of January 2018. 271 wines were awarded by great gold medal, 1026 by gold medal and 717 wines were awarded by silver. Slovak wines gained 26 medals. 

The competition is runned by Yumi Tanabe, president of Wine & Spirits Culture Association, who established a somelier traning facility in 1992 Yumi Tanabe´s Wine School. The official results from the competition are the following page Sakura Award.
